This year for Christmas we were able to go to Mesa to spend time with my family. It was really nice because it meant that there were extra people to help us take care of Jane as a 2 week old. We got there on Christmas Eve and spent that night with the Ridings. We had our traditional dinner, nativity, and program. As part of the program all of the men made a bell choir and played Christmas songs for us. It was fun to see everyone!
Christmas morning we woke up and opened presents. It was fun to have Kami, Michael, and their kids for that morning because they are so exited about opening their presents. It make us excited for the future when Jane can open her presents and play with them. For Christmas Adam got some books and a Wii game and I got a Zumba game to help me get back into shape. We gave Jane a teddy bear that she will hopefully grow to love as she gets older. It was a small but fun Christmas!
Because we didn't have anything going on during that time (and the weather was much nicer in Mesa) we stayed in Mesa for the rest of week. It was fun to spend so much time with family, something we don't get to do very much with Adam's school. We mostly just hung out and ate way too much food.
That Sunday we headed down to Bowie to spend New Years at Kami and Michael's house. Most of my family was able to come (Todd, Kenzie, Jill, Dallas, Rigdin, Mom, and Melissa). Sunday night we played games while we waited for everyone to get there. New Years Eve we played, watched movies, and hung out. Then a bunch of people went to New Mexico to buy fireworks. That night we played game, ate a ton of food, and lit fireworks. They live on a Pistachio farm so we had a lot of room to do the fireworks. It was so cool to see them so up close! Overall, it was such a fun party!
I'm not very good at taking pictures (something that I want to do better at) so here are some pictures of Jane and Rigdin at Kami's. They are 9 days apart so hopefully they will grow up to be good friends!
